UP-Physics Building (Osmond North Building)
This bid posting is for the new North Building Construction portion of the Penn State Osmond Lab Renovation and Osmond North Building.
Overall Project Summary:
The Penn State Osmond Lab Renovation and Osmond North Building is located at and behind the existing Osmond Lab Building on the central campus and is split into 3 Sequences.
Current
Sequence 2 - Renovation of existing Osmond to be completed after a new build. Osmond North Building is a 48,000 SF new build, the first phase in a "one home" for the Department of Physics. The new build is in the existing parking lot directly behind Osmond Lab and surrounded by Whitmore, South Frear, and Telecom Buildings. Construction is to start in March 2024, with substantial completion occurring in the Summer of 2026 — the estimated total construction cost of $53M.

Sequence 0 – Site Enabling (TC01) involves site utilities and the construction of a new access road.
Sequence 1 - North Osmond Building consists of an estimated $53M new building that is the first phase in a "one home" for the Department of Physics. The first phase of Sequence 1 being bought out is the renovation of both existing lecture halls (rooms 117 & 119), along with the pre-purchase of long-lead switchgear for the new build. The lecture hall renovation involves abatement, masonry, general trades, mechanical, and electrical bid packages.
Bidders must be prequalified by Barton Malow for this specific project. The prequalification form is attached below. If you are already prequalified from previously bidding phase 1 of this project, there is no need to submit again.
This prequalification is separate from any existing PSU or Barton Malow prequalification.

As a project delegated to Penn State by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS), bid openings for this project will be public via a Zoom Webinar.
