Palmer Museum of Art Storage at CATO Park

Renovation of existing library storage space to accommodate new art storage facility, including interior fit-out and minor site alterations at CATO Park Building.  Scope includes select demolition, new construction, finishes, infrastructure, and fit-out of an Art Storage space, work room, vestibule, mechanical/electrical rooms, site work and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.
a. New exterior canopy, building envelope modifications including roof replacement and new exterior overhead doors, and interior improvements including new art storage space with adjacent support spaces.
b. Removal of existing HVAC system in project scope area to allow installation of new packaged cooling/heating equipment, humidifier, ducted air distribution system, and air curtain.
c. Plumbing work includes piping for cooling coil, condensate, and humidifier blow-down/make-up.
d. Fire suppression work includes replacement of replacement of wet sprinkler piping in scope area only.
e. Electrical work includes removal of existing high bay lighting, abandoned conduit, convenience receptacles, dedicated mechanical equipment, a branch circuit panelboard, and associated branch circuits in scope area.  Electrical scope includes new lighting, installation of Owner’s existing lighting fixtures, lighting controls, convenience power, associated branch circuiting within the project area and the addition of standby generator power and distribution system for backup of emergency systems in the building and critical mechanical equipment serving the art storage space.
f. Site electrical scope includes rework of site power, telecom service entrance, and site lighting to accommodate revised drive aisle and covered loading.
g. General site scope includes expansion of asphalt driveway, mill and overlay of existing asphalt driveway, removal of concrete aprons and trees as identified on plan, and installation of concrete apron.  Work also includes the adjustment of the existing storm inlet and partial replacement of the 12" storm drain.
h. Telecommunications work includes connection to a new service line at the existing building Entrance Facility connection point, backbone cabling into the Arts Storage Space, horizontal cabling, and work area outlets.
i. Security work includes connection to the Penn State security interconnection equipment in the existing building, backbone cable to the Arts Storage Area, door access control, intrusion detection, surveillance cameras and device cabling, as well as the associated programming and licenses.
