Chemical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering Building
The University intends to replace Fenske Laboratory, the current home of the Department of Chemical Engineering, with a new, state-of-the-art research and instructional laboratory building on the same site. This new building will become the home of Chemical Engineering as well as of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (currently located in Hallowell Building). It will include faculty and administrative offices, a large lecture hall, several smaller classrooms, instructional labs and fume hood intensive research labs. This project will be completed in a single phase, with all occupants of the building moved to other locations during the construction. It will include demolition of the entire building and construction of a new 188,000 GSF building on the site.
